PREPPING FOR TILE

So M made me go to the emergency clinic when he got home from work last night, which turned out to be a good idea because the cut on my hand required six stitches. I’m down but not out!

I’m supposed to take it easy today, but I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. So I needed a project. I decided to take up the next floor layer: this delightful old school linoleum.

Unfortunately it turns out that linoleum is way trickier to take up than vinyl squares. You have to cut it into twelve-inch strips, which isn’t easy to do with fresh stitches. With the help of my trusty heat gun I got one corner up, but I found gnarly black stuff underneath... I started hacking away at it, and then when M got home, he was like, isn’t that asbestos?  Someone at Silver Lake Garden (@320SilverLake on Twitter) warned me as well - good catch!

Asbestos + trying to get pregnant = crying.

So I’m taking the rest of the day off to binge the rest of 90 Day Fiancee and eat a gallon of ice cream.

I guess the good thing about a negative pregnancy test is that I can drink wine tonight?
